Why we built Clive
Clinics across Malaysia were running on spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and practice software that never quite fit how they work. Clive is the system we wished they had.
We talked to chiropractors, dentists, GPs, physiotherapists and vets who described the same problem in different words: booking on a spreadsheet or a whiteboard, chasing no-shows by phone, and billing software that treats Malaysia's LHDN e-Invoice requirement as an afterthought.
Clive is our answer: one system for the calendar, the queue, patient records and treatment notes, billing with e-Invoice, and WhatsApp reminders, built for Malaysia first rather than adapted from software made for another market. The rest of Southeast Asia comes after we have earned it here.
Clive is built and run by Clive Labs Sdn Bhd, a company registered in Malaysia. Our mission is simple: give clinic teams software that gets out of the way, so they can spend their time on patients instead of paperwork.
What we optimise for
Privacy by default
Every clinic’s data is isolated by tenant with row-level security at the database, and patient identifiers are encrypted with a key per clinic. We test the isolation in CI on every change.
Built from real clinic days
The queue, the note templates and the e-Invoice flow came from sitting with front-desk staff and practitioners in Malaysian clinics, not from a feature checklist.
Reliability first
A clinic that can’t see its schedule can’t see patients. Uptime and data integrity are the baseline, and our status page is public.
